Traveling to Peru - Day 2 Hiking the Pisac Ruins - PT. 3

In this episode, I hike the remaining ruins in Pisac. These are the most intricate and intact part of the ruins, which were a wonder to see. The stones were fit so closely together that you couldn't fit a piece of paper in-between them. Remarkable construction for an ancient civilization that for centuries the world was led to believe were just savages. Is it possible that they could have been ...
Travelling to Peru - Day 2 Hiking the Pisac Ruins - Pt 2

In this episode, I take a break from the hike and talk about some differences that I have noticed between the western way of life and thinking compared to the Peruvian mindset and way of living. I also touch on how many people in society let fear rule their lives and decisions and how we need to learn to live more form a place of love, compassion and gratitude, as well as, living authentically.

Travelling to Peru - Day 1 Entering the Sacred Valley
Excellent video! We would need for an airbnb single room. We don't want guests having to change out anything, and they have the main house bathroom which we hope they will use unless it's a middle of the night thing. Can you think of a way to have a larger urine container that would allow it to be used for a week? That would be the maximum stay, and again, mainly for middle of the night use. Or do you think it would smell even with the lemon stuff if you went more than a couple days?
Thank you
I get this is 5 years ago… peat is really damaging to the environment is us being phased out in Europe with an eventually full ban in place. Please don’t use it.
Great build!
Thanks for sharing how to make your own screens! Some years ago, I tried repairing aluminum framed screens and just messed it up horribly. It may have been due to my trying to save money and cut the screen material too small. Live and learn. I also did not know about stretching the cording that holds in the screen. Next time will be better thanks to you!

Not a "composting toilet" in any way. Throwing human waste into the garbage system is not good. A traditional waste system for RVs using sanitary dump stations is 100 percent better than this. Your philosophy is out of sight out of mind. Bad idea and illegal. I live in Alaska off grid and use a true composting toilet system and it works perfectly with a positive environmental impact. I recommend anyone interested in a true sanitary composting system to buy a book called "The Humanure Handbook" by Joseph Jenkins. Works.
Cool job what do you do with toilet paper
Thanks for sharing your DIY compost toilet ideas. This is a very good design. I saw something similar years ago but lost the link to it, so your video is perfect. I love the two side compartments for storage, too. How did you decide on the height for the wooden enclosure? The only thing missing is a rack for reading material. ☺️
I absolutely love this bus!!!
ive been watching a Lot of videos. this seems to be the Best home made one so far
Very nice bus and! Thank you👍🐕🙏🐈🐇🐇🍀❤
Tractor Supply horse bedding pelletized pine for 40# its $8. Pine neutralizes odors and is very absorbent.
Very well thought out thats lovely
I wish i was self sufficant they know what to do with these buses its beautiful
I was thinking of an idea of like an electric dumper for your two soiled water tanks and a some gauges to monitor the volume in your clean water tank and your two soiled water tanks. But I think on the front, you might have room for a gauge to monitor your clean water tank volume but I guess you would want to have two other gauges above you that would monitor the volume in your two soiled water tanks equipped with some alarms, and two dumper switches on the switch panel.
Thank you, nice job🙌
One thing you may want to consider is that in many places it is illegal to dispose of feces in the garbage.
all good except you use a plastic bag to collect to make it easier on yourself and contribute to pollution and plastic use as well as you then just toss your waste in the trash... cmon man... ! it's called a composting toilet because you compost the waste..
It's September 2023. Don't you travel anymore?
They have stopped traveling for now.
I've been watching a lot of these videos. Your divertor toilet bowl, seems to have a bigger solids hole. My question is, what do you do if it doesn't all go down the hole? Scrape it? Can you wash it down with water or does that make it too wet?
Very nice idea, thanks for sharing and thanks for the time you put into the video
Interesting Design 👏👏👏
Awesome!
This is our next project! Thx
Hey question how deep is the urine diverter for women?
"Put the bag in the trash"! Isn't the idea of a composting toilet that the waste is composted?
You still can get caught slipping empting the urine I rather just use the trash bag to hold the solids and liquids to be emptied at any trash bin
Update ?
Wow, I'm inspired. Know anyone who wants to sell a bus that's been set up?
Okay, it's a decent toilet and cheap, but no, not as good as professionally made and designed toilets. No view screen or trap door means you stare at poop every time you take a pee. Guys will have to sit on this unit. No agitation means the waste will not really have broken down. Adding organic material every time is messy, dramatically reduces capacity, and can introduce insects.
What paint did you use? What colors?
I like your design, looks good. But you lost me at the bag. A composting toilet makes sense if you compost the solids. After 6-12 months (depends on your climate), you have good fertilizer and you haven't added to the landfill problem by disposing of bags of waste. A trash can or wheelie bin is a perfectly good composter. Add a vent near the top, and a handful of worms once it is nearly full. Leave it, then use the perfectly good compost as fertilizer after you wait for 12 months.
That’s an awesome layout/design
Very thorough explanation Sir. Well done. One idea for you....hot glue a small shim to bottom of your urine bottle to angle it in the direction you need for a perfect alignment to the tube coming down.
Im a Fan now. I subscribed to ya'll's channel. Great Job. Did Adam fo all the Construction?
Adam is Handsome. Why did you hide him til the end? Lol. Love the Bus.
This is very nice!
Your bus conversion looks so amazing and cosy, I loved it.
How long you change the bag?
Awesome Skoolie Tour! You both are sooo cute with the ending! Love it!!!
Thanks for this video. Q: Is the fan designed to suck air from the entire "box"? It looks like you raised the floor of the peat moss enclosure to allow that. And, is the air intake simply the gap between the toilet seat and lid?
Hello Mike. Yes the fan is designed to suck the air out of the entire "box. And yes the air intake is the gap you mentioned. Hope that helps!
@@SoulfulBusLife Thank you.
A squatting bucket, a bin of last year's spent compost as soak material and a dalek composter to compost the stuff down for a year is all you need.
I think those 2 small wires on the shunt are to connect to the monitor. The temp connection is a single terminal that goes directly on the negative battery terminal.
Two Things: 1) don't use peat moss because of its taken from moors what is not supposed to happen these days - sawdust will do (no one needs to/will start a compost from this sh**t). 2) Kildwick is not Kildwick as known anymore - now the diverters are made of polypropylene - the classic sturdy ones with special surface finish are still made by the girls of "Strumpet and Trollop" in the original workshop formerly known as Kildwick.
Hi Tom. Thank you for your comment. In the video description you will see that we stopped using peat moss very quickly. In our first year of bus life we learned more about peat moss and switched to coconut coir. Sawdust doesn't work as well to cover odors which is why we didn't use it but you are right that this isn't being truly composted. The Kildwick diverter was the only/best one we could find when we did our build nearly 5 years ago. I believe there are more options out there now since so many more people have moved into bus/van life. The link we have in the description still works and at least gives someone a starting point for when they are looking for their supplies. Thank you for watching and commenting!
what happened to your story?
We still post a lot on our Instagram page (@our.soulful.life). We very recently moved out of the bus after nearly 4.5 years of living full time in it. Just spreading out and getting ready for new chapters :)
